Cirebon, a district in West Java has a famous traditional art called Tari Topeng or Masking Dance, all the dancer wearing the mask when perform the dance. The dance is an ancestor heritage of people in Cirebon that recently is almost extinguished by modernization. These masks are a symbol for this area, that’s why the district king of Cirebon order these mask for his palace called Istana Kesultanan Cirebon. The craft men there keep the heritage by producing the mask not only for the dance, but that also used for wall decoration and key hanger. These masks which made from Jaran wood has a smooth texture and resistant to termites. They have various characters which are taken from West Java traditional puppet’s figure.
